Berggruen Gallery is pleased to release the limited edition artist book Paul Kremer / UV. This signed editioned artist book was published to accompany the exhibition Paul Kremer / UV, September 9 - October 9, 2021 (Berggruen Gallery, San Francisco). Each clothbound book was individually screenprinted by the artist in his Houston studio and is a unique. There are four 2-color Risographs measuring 6 x 4.75 inches tipped into each book, which are intended to be removed and framed should the buyer so choose.
The exhibition, UV, at its heart, is Kremer’s exploration of hopefulness and ebullience through color and shape during a time in the world when everything can feel difficult and complex. While discussing this new work, the artist shared, “I want to make paintings that make me feel better. When I stand in front of them, I want to feel for a moment that life is less stressful, less chaotic. I want to stir curiosity by the simplest means and add some positivity while I’m alive.” Kremer’s playfully refined works challenge viewers to see delight and expansive movement through autonomous forms and color. This limited edition publication celebrates Kremer's joyful body of work and we are so excited to share Kremer's work in a new collectible form.
The artist’s book will be released in small batches of 12 to 20 over the next several weeks and will only be available for purchase through the website. Please continue to check back on our website and follow us on Instagram to learn about our next release. Purchases only available online.
