Berggruen Gallery is proud to announce the acquisition of Henri Matisse, Jazz by the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
Jazz asserts Matisse’s formal resourcefulness as well as his enduring skill as a colorist. It is a prime example of the innovative work the artist produced in his final decades, in what has been described by long-time Tate Modern director Nicholas Serota as the “late, great flowering” of Matisse’s career.
