Press Release

John Berggruen Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of original lithographs by New York artist, Ellsworth Kelly.  This exhibition opens Thursday, September 14th and will run through Saturday, October 28, 2000.

Educated at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, after having completed his Master of Arts in Boston at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in the 1940s, this exhibition of Ellsworth Kelly’s work will include variations of his singular approach to form.  These large format prints vividly convey Kelly’s preoccupation with line, color and form.

Ellsworth Kelly has been the subject of major one-person exhibitions around the globe, and stands comfortably in the permanent collections of the world’s greatest museums.  Having received countless prizes in painting, Kelly was made Chevalier de Legion d’Honneur in France in 1993 and in New York City alone, has had single shows at The Whitney Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Museum of Modern Art.
