Pedro Sanchez de Movellán (b. 1967, Providence, RI) is a renowned kinetic sculptor widely regarded as one of the most prominent living practitioners of the art form. Born to a Spanish architect father and an American painter mother, de Movellán's upbringing instilled a strong sense of artistic expression and technical knowledge. He honed his craft by channeling his creativity into furniture-making and boat-building before dedicating his time fully to art, drawing inspiration from the works of Alexander Calder and George Rickey. With his precise craftsmanship and ability to seamlessly blend technical and artistic elements, de Movellán has become a celebrated figure in the world of kinetic sculpture. Today, the artist lives and works in West Stockbridge, MA.
