Isca Greenfield-Sanders: Red Boat Beaches
Isca Greenfield-Sanders
August 30, 2007Description
For her second solo exhibition at the John Berggruen Gallery, Isca Greenfield-Sanders unveiled her newest paintings from her series Red Boat Beaches. Greenfield-Sanders' practice is derived from a fascination with vintage anonymous family photos from the 1950s-1960s. She manipulates these images in Photoshop, prints them on rice paper, and applies various paint mediums to augment the printed picture. This body of work typifies Greenfield-Sanders' ongoing interest in blurring the distinctions between photography and painting, realism and impressionism.
