The exhibition featured approximately twenty recent works by Dallas, Texas native, David Bates. With this body of work Bates continues to explore the blending of techniques using as his subject the floral still-life. The installation brought together works done in the more traditional technique of painting on canvas and panel, with hand-painted bronzes, aluminum pieces and wood constructions done as free-standing sculptures and low wall reliefs. In his distinctive bold style David Bates continues to use his thick, lush painterly approach to all of his work despite the medium.
