Natural Phenomena

November 2 - December 9, 2000

Statement

John Berggruen Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of recent paintings by Diane Andrews Hall titled "Natural Phenomena". This exhibition opens Thursday,
November 2nd, and will run through Saturday, December 9th.

In her first solo exhibition with John Berggruen Gallery, Diane Andrews Hall's paintings reflect the art of realism as she captures nature on canvas. Focusing on the ocean and the sky, Hall depicts the changing forces of nature from the turbulent sea to the threatening sky. Hall's work is not merely a representation of clouds and water, but rather evokes emotional and somewhat spiritual beliefs as she reveals our connection to the earth.

Diane Andrews Hall lives and works in the Bay Area and has one such prestigious awards as the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture Award and the WESTA/NEA Regional Fellowship for Individual Artists. She has had solo exhibitions around the country, including New York, Texas and California and has been included in a number of group exhibitions in venues that include Eugene, Oregon and Leningrad, U.S.S.R. Her work has been reviewed in a number of newspapers such as The San Francisco Examiner, The Oakland Tribune, ARTWEEK Magazine, and Esquire Magazine.
